Therapists share their skills at Well Being days

MORE than 1,000 people flocked to Bradford on Avon at the weekend to find out how to improve their health and well being.
Massage, tarot reading and alternative therapies were on offer in St Margaret's Hall and Westbury Gardens as well as meditations, free talks and workshops and aura imaging.
The Health and Well Being weekend started on Saturday morning with a Gong celebration, followed by Qi Gong, an exercise similar to Tai Chi designed to bring in energy. Organiser Laura Brennand, who runs Inspiration in Market Street, said: "The inside events incorporated the therapists and readers and were a peaceful quiet area, while the outside had more of a festival atmosphere.
"We had well over 1,000 people and the weather was very good until 4pm on Sunday.
"I think all the boys did a rain dance so they could go off to the pub to watch the football."
There were also plenty of children's activities on offer, including a story telling area, rainbow painting and a live mosaic, which was made up with leaves picked up from the ground in the garden.
Mrs Brennand said the aim was to bring different therapists together and raise money for charity. She said: "When I moved to Bradford there were a lot of therapists working behind closed door and I started last year to bring everyone together.
"The idea of the event is to get everyone involved in a really nice atmosphere. "The profits mainly go to the Neem Trust, which supports a boys' home in India, and local charities including Dorothy House."
She pointed out that the security fencing put up around Westbury Gardens for the weekend had been needed to ensure the safety of those who stayed on the site overnight.
